Safe In Your Arms (Chambers)

Story Behind The Song

Building up for a time, in the memories

A release in the offing, me above the treachery

A balance I ask, find myself on level ground

A notion toward better times is what I embrace...

All the progress, we find ourselves over again

A destiny searched for, when does that search end?

Happiness is the goal, what's the method?

I find the answer deep in your eyes...

And I'm of the season, and the end rolls in a better day

Leaves fall, snow comes, still impressed by all this change

I'm blown by the wind, at the mercy of the elements

I find myself safe, safe, safe in your arms

And the end rolls, I'm falling, hard to keep this balance now,

In my bad dreams, she's calling, wake me up in the middle of the night

Nothing's there, I'm seeing all darkness, nothing light

All the while I'm feeling like I should be safe in your arms.

In the daybreak, flash forward to future days

All the questions, where will my life remainS

Again I see you with a spark that keeps me high

Found the answer deep in your eyes.

I should be safe in your arms

I should be safe in your arms

This song was written at two different times. The first half was written as an acknowledgement of how we often have little control of how the world around us will affect us. The second half of the song came together with the realization that if you have someone special, the magic that you feel makes everything else just a little less scary...
