Suffocating Mind (Chambers)

Story Behind The Song

You sir hand me my machine, I want to take it far away

You sir, what's the point in waiting for another day

I ask you your opinion and you shrug as if to dismiss me in hand

Again I ask for something more than just a simple gesture

Pleading, shaking

Both my fists at your suggestion

Waiting, straining

In my head of my possession

I'm holding out, I'm reaching out,

Come rescue what has captured me

And take it far away where I can

Breathe without this suffocating mind.

And you sir, what's the point in all the games you're throwing at me

You sir, give me answers to my endless questions

It makes me angry just to see that this avoidance carries on

And I'm angry often, usually I keep it all inside

Reeling, raging

Against the calm refusal to aidS

Freeing emotions

Building up for a tirade.

I'm holding out, I'm reaching out,

Come rescue what has captured me

And take it far away where I can

Breathe without this suffocating mind.

Reeling, raging

Against the calm refusal to aidS

Freeing emotions

Building up for a tirade.

I'm holding out, I'm reaching out,

Come rescue what has captured me

And take it far away where I can

Breathe without this suffocating mind.

This song has had a number of psychological interpretations imposed upon in the last few years. In reality, it's a simple song about an attempt to clear out all the outside influences in one's mind, and focus on what is best for one's self. Sometimes, we let other people make decisions for us, while secretly disagreeing, but saying nothing. A suffocating mind is my term for the result.
